Voting is NOW open for the Third Annual HBCU Jazz Combo Challenge!
Four amazing HBCU jazz combos, including FMU's Young Lions, are competing for a chance to perform at the 68th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival.
Starting today through January 23, we here in Lion Country can show support for our talented musicians by voting daily, which is extremely easy to do. Click on the link The HBCU Jazz Combo Challenge - Education scroll down, check the box, and click the blue vote button.
The three schools with the highest number of votes will move forward as finalists.
The winning HBCU combo will be selected by a panel of jazz adjudicators and will be invited to perform at the 68th Monterey Jazz Festival, September 26-28, 2025.
Since 1958, the nonprofit Monterey Jazz Festival has been committed to celebrating America's creativity and cultural heritage by presenting legendary jazz musicians, composers, and young rising stars.
