November 8, 2024 - Cleveland - In honor of Veterans Day and in recognition of all those who have served our country, the City of Cleveland is proud to host the 2024 Veterans Day Ceremony, introduce City Hall's first veterans liaison, and announce Cleveland's third annual Veterans Resource Fair.
Annual Veterans Day Ceremony and Parade
In collaboration with the Joint Veterans Council of Cuyahoga County (JVCOCC), the City of Cleveland welcomes veterans, citizens, and their families to honor our service members at the Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the City Hall Rotunda on November 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
The ceremony will include the presentation of the Martin L. Flask Legacy Awards for commitment to veterans, public service, and humankind; and the Judge Felix T. Matia Outstanding Service Awards recognizing service to veterans and the community. This year's honorees include:
• Jamieson Ritter, Cleveland Division of Police
• Jacob Derbin, Euclid Police Department
• Derek Moore, USAF Veteran, and Cleveland Municipal Court Veterans Treatment Docket Coordinator
• Judge Andrew J. Santoli, Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Veterans Treatment Court
The ceremony will be followed by a parade departing from City Hall at 12:30 p.m.
City Hall Announces First Veterans Liaison
Mayor Justin M. Bibb is proud to announce City Hall's First Veterans Liaison. Continuing with our mission to promote amicable relations among diverse groups within our community, the Department of Community Relations named Edwin Parris as the City of Cleveland's first Veterans Liaison. Parris served in the ARMY between 1969 and 1970 based in Germany and was a service member during the Vietnam War. He has been serving the City of Cleveland since 2014. Through this position, Parris is leading efforts collaborating with grassroots organizations and community members, ensuring veterans' access to housing, healthcare, and employment.
Join Cleveland's Veterans Resource Fair
On Wednesday, November 13, the Department of Community Relations invites veterans to participate in the the 2024 Veterans Resource Fair at Estabrook Recreational Center (4125 Fulton Rd.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring over 40 vendors, resources, refreshments, and giveaways. Identification and proof of service is required for participation. Registration is encouraged.
