Watro, Argall Announce $6.67 Million Loan for Kline Township Municipal Authority Water System Improvements

HARRISBURG - Rep. Dane Watro (R-116) and Sen. Dave Argall (R-29) today announced a $6.67 million loan has been approved by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) for the Kline Township Municipal Authority to undertake a new round of improvements to its water system, including the Hancock Street Phase 2 water main replacement, the Tresckow Fire Loop water main replacement and the Tresckow water tank rehabilitation.

"This loan will allow Kline Township Municipal Authority to replace the Hancock Street and Tresckow Fire Loop water mains with larger, nonlead pipes, in addition to repainting the Tresckow elevated water tank," Watro said. "These renovations will improve hydraulic performance, increase system reliability and enhance fire suppression capabilities for the service area, helping to protect public health and safety without increasing customer rates."

"Projects like this one, while critical to building a healthy and safe community, can be very expensive. I'm grateful PENNVEST recognizes how important this project is."

PENNVEST is a financing authority that provides low-cost financial assistance to address water, wastewater, stormwater and nonpoint source pollution problems that impact public health, safety, the environment, regulatory compliance and economic development.
