Heavy rain and saturated grounds have canceled the event; fireworks are now rescheduled for July 6.
City officials have canceled the annual Red, White, and Blue Music Festival, originally scheduled to take place on July 5 in Historic Downtown.
The safety of our residents and staff remains our top priority. Due to severe weather conditions, including heavy rainfall that has left the festival grounds saturated, officials anticipate that these conditions will continue into Saturday. The cherished family-friendly festival is known for featuring one of the largest fireworks displays in Central Texas. As a contingency plan, the fireworks show has been rescheduled for Sunday, July 6, at 9:30 p.m., weather permitting.
The City of Killeen extends its gratitude to everyone who contributed to planning and supporting the event, including staff, local vendors, entertainers, volunteers, and sponsors. The City also thanks its residents for their understanding and support during this time. We look forward to the next big event, Touchdown in Downtown, scheduled to take place in September in Historic Downtown.
