PORTLAND, OR. - The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at Portland State University presents Anish Kapoor: Dissolving Margins, From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation, a decade-spanning survey of Anish Kapoor's printmaking practice. The exhibition will be on view from August 28 to December 5, 2026, at the JSMA at PSU, 1855 SW Broadway, in downtown Portland, Oregon.
Based in London and Venice, Anish Kapoor is one of the world's leading artists. He represented Britain in 1990 at the 44th Biennale, and was awarded the prestigious Turner Prize the following year. Although predominantly known for his large-scale sculpture, including Cloud Gate, 2004, in Chicago's Millennium Park, and more recently, his painting practice, Kapoor has maintained an active printmaking practice for over 40 years.

Schnitzer and His Family Foundation, is the artist's first retrospective survey dedicated to his printmaking, and features over 150 unique works. These prints reflect Kapoor's long-standing interest in iteration, variation, form, and color, all of which are central tenets of his artistic practice. This exhibition also features one of his iconic mirror works, Untitled (Hex Mirror), 2009, which measures nearly 5 ½ feet in diameter.

To mark the opening of the exhibition, the museum will be hosting Family Day at the JSMA at PSU on Saturday, August 29 at 11:00 AM. Take your loved ones to the museum to enjoy the stunning prints on view and get hands-on at one of the all-ages crafting stations. The museum will also host a free children's Storytime and a face-painting station outside at the PSU Farmers Market. Children must be accompanied by a guardian throughout the event.
A reception will be held on Thursday, October 22 at 4:00 PM, with more details to come. All events are free to the public.
