Update: All lanes have been reopened.
Due to a 12-inch water main break, South Greene Street is closed from Smothers Place to West McGee Street and one eastbound lane of West McGee Street from Federal Place to South Greene Street is also closed. There are five customers without water service.
City crews will be on-site until repairs are completed, the lanes reopened, and service is restored, which is expected by 5 pm. Signs and traffic cones are in place, and motorists are urged to use alternate routes to avoid the area. See map below.
If you notice discoloration or cloudy water coming from your tap after the repairs, run cold water for a few minutes through a faucet without an aerator, such as an outside spigot or bathtub, until clear.
