As Americans head to the polls in this tightly contested presidential election year, WSU Insider takes a look at the people and processes that enable the fair casting and counting of ballots. This four-part series was undertaken with help from WSU's Thomas S. Foley Institute for Public Policy and Public Service, which is part of the national Election Integrity Initiative, a nonpartisan effort to promote greater civic understanding in the lead-up to the 2024 general election.
