Rep. Arlene Beckles to Join ‘Leaders Across Generations’ in Stone Mountain

ATLANTA - State Representative Arlene Beckles (D-Norcross) will join Caribbean Georgia Votes (CGV) for "Leaders Across Generations," a community leadership forum bringing together elected officials, former public servants, business leaders and members of Georgia's Caribbean-American community on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Rock of Ages Lutheran Church in Stone Mountain, Ga.

"Leadership is not a solo sprint; it is a relay," said Rep. Beckles. "Every generation has something to teach and something to contribute. As Caribbean-Americans continue to make their mark across Georgia, we have an opportunity to build stronger connections between our communities, our elected officials and the next generation of leaders."

During the event, Rep. Beckles will join a moderated panel discussion on the importance of building bridges across generations and communities while strengthening civic engagement and public service.

Rep. Beckles notes that the event reflects CGV's broader effort to strengthen the relationship between Georgia's Caribbean-American community and the people who represent them in government. She adds that organizers describe the evening as an opportunity for real dialogue, meaningful connections and the exchange of experiences across generations of leadership.

"Public service should never be disconnected from the people we serve," added Rep. Beckles. "My experience in local and state government, from serving on the Norcross City Council to serving in the Georgia House of Representatives, along with my professional background in information security and cybersecurity, has shaped my perspective on the importance of bringing diverse experiences and expertise to public service and addressing issues involving technology, privacy, data security and government accountability. Whether you are already sitting in the elected seat, have served in the past or are considering running for office for the first time, we all have a responsibility to leave the pathway wider and stronger for those coming behind us."
