As construction continues to rise at Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica, Tanner Health is inviting the community to take part in a meaningful milestone: signing a beam that will become part of the hospital's new Tanner Women's Pavilion.
The beam signing marks a pivotal moment in the expansion project, offering patients, families, team members and community residents the opportunity to leave their mark on a facility designed to expand access to women's care across west Georgia.
The beam - painted pink and blue - will be displayed at the hospital for a limited time before being lifted into place as part of the building's structure, where it will remain as a lasting symbol of the people behind the project.
"This is more than a construction milestone," said Loy Howard, president and CEO of Tanner Health. "It's an opportunity for our community to be part of something that will serve generations to come."
The four-story 74,000-square-foot expansion - built specially for HER - is designed to improve access to a range of women's and maternity care services, including postpartum, imaging and outpatient OB-GYN services, while adding additional labor and delivery suites, inpatient rooms and newborn nurseries.
The signing opportunity is being held alongside National Hospital Week, a time dedicated to celebrating the healthcare professionals and team members who make care possible every day.
Participants may drop by to sign the beam any time from Tuesday, May 12, to Sunday, May 17. The beam will be clearly marked by a banner located outside the construction site fence on the VillaWest side of the Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica campus.
