New Head of the Permanent Observer Mission of the Gulf Cooperation Council presents credentials

VIENNA, 19 September (UN Information Service) - The new Head of the Permanent Observer Mission of the Gulf Cooperation Council to the United Nations (Vienna), Rashed Abdulrahman Mohamed Almuraikhi, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) Ghada Waly.

During his career, Mr. Almuraikhi has served as Director, Internal Audit and Investigations Department, in the Office of the Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs. His prior assignments include: Military Courts Administration; Legal Affairs Administration; Capital Governorate Police Directorate; Manama Security Department; General Directorate of Training and Guard.

Mr. Almuraikhi holds a master's degree in law from the Applied Science University, Kingdom of Bahrain and a bachelor's degree in law and police sciences from the Dubai Police College, United Arab Emirates.

He speaks Arabic and English.
