On 27th July, the Chinese Embassy in Ghana hosted a reception to celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). A total of more than 200 representatives were in attendance, among them Hon. Ernest Brogya Genfi, Deputy Minister for Defence, military representatives, Ghanaian friends, diplomatic corps in Ghana and overseas Chinese.
Defence Attaché Colonel DOU Yan stated that, the Chinese military fully applies Xi Jinping Thought on Strengthening the Military, advances the modernization of national defence and the armed forces with high-quality development, faithfully practices the vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity, promotes the implementation of the four major Global Initiatives, actively fulfills the international responsibilities of a major-country military, and contributes to safeguarding world peace. China stands ready to work with Ghana to elevate military-to-military relations between the two countries to new heights.
Hon. Genfi delivered a speech wherein he extended warm congratulations on this anniversary and reaffirmed the Ghanaian government's firm commitment to the one-China principle.
