Henderson Fire Department Encourages Residents to Learn CPR During Heart Month

Apply today to join an award-winning team

HENDERSON, Nev. (Feb. 2, 2026) -Every second counts during a cardiac emergency and the Henderson Fire Department (HFD) has earned national recognition for making those seconds matter. The department is proud to announce it has received the prestigious American Heart Association Heart Attack Honor Roll, in addition to its LifeLine EMS Gold achievement.

HFD is the only fire agency and pre-hospital provider in Southern Nevada to receive this award, which recognizes their commitment to providing timely, research-based care to people experiencing the most severe forms of heart attacks and strokes, ultimately saving lives and improving patient outcomes.

Because cardiac arrest remains a leading cause of death, the Henderson Fire Department, in recognition of Heart Month, encourages the community to learn CPR. Immediate CPR during a cardiac emergency can double or even triple someone's chance of survival. Residents can also download the PulsePoint app, which alerts users when someone nearby needs help. Quick action can help save a life.

For those interested in joining this award-winning team, HFD iscurrently hiring firefighters and firefighter/paramedics for its next Fire Academy scheduled for August. Applications close April 1.
