Klobuchar Statement on C-SPAN Being Added to YouTubeTV and Hulu + Live TV Streaming Services

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) released the following statement applauding YouTubeTV and Hulu + Live TV's announcement that the streaming services will begin to carry C-SPAN and its live coverage of congressional proceedings. This comes after Senator Klobuchar advocated for streaming platforms to carry C-SPAN.

"C-SPAN has connected Congress with the American people for decades - providing the public an opportunity to see their government at work on the Senate and House floor and in committee meetings," Klobuchar said. "Access to this live coverage on all platforms, including streaming services, is essential to keeping the American people informed and engaged in our democracy, and that's why Senator Grassley and I worked to pass a resolution urging all television providers to carry C-SPAN. I'm glad YouTube and Hulu are taking this step, and I look forward to C-SPAN being available on these platforms for many years to come."

In June, Senator Klobuchar and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) introduced a resolution to mark the 39th anniversary of C-SPAN 2's first Senate broadcast, which passed the Senate unanimously. The resolution urged all television providers, including streaming services, to carry C-SPAN. Senator Klobuchar also delivered remarks on the Senate floor highlighting C-SPAN's contributions to American democracy and urging YouTube and Hulu + Live TV to carry C-SPAN.
