The UMass basketball teams will each tip-off their 2025-26 seasons on Monday, Nov. 3.

Following exhibition wins against Brown and Rhode Island College by the men and an exhibition win over Assumption by the women, the teams will start their regular season schedules by participating in the MAC-SBC Challenge as the 13 Mid-American Conference men's teams will host Sun Belt Conference opponents on the season's opening night, while the 13 MAC women's teams will travel to Sun Belt opponents.

Led by fourth-year head coach Frank Martin and senior forward Daniel Hankins-Sanford, who was selected to the Preseason All-MAC Second Team, the Minutemen will begin their season Monday by welcoming Marshall University to the Mullins Center at 7 p.m. Following a slate of non-conference games, the Minutemen will open their inaugural MAC conference schedule at home against Kent State on Dec. 20.

The Minutewomen open their season Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Under third-year head coach Mike Leflar, the team has been projected to finish third in the MAC in a preseason coaches poll, with three votes to win the 2026 MAC Tournament, while senior forward Megan Olbrys and sophomore guard Yahmani McKayle were also named to the Preseason All-MAC Second Team.

The home opener for the Minutewomen is set for Saturday, Nov. 8, when they will take on Siena at 2 p.m. They then face three straight in-state foes at Mullins Center, hosting Harvard on Nov. 11, UMass Lowell on Nov. 18 and Boston College on Nov. 22. They will open their inaugural MAC conference schedule on Dec. 31 against Western Michigan at the Mullins Center.
