St. Joseph Health Seeks Nonprofit Grant Applications

BRYAN, TX - [July 20, 2026] - St. Joseph Health, a member of CommonSpirit Health, is inviting local nonprofit organizations to consider applying for grants that support the delivery of services vital to improving health and well-being, and improving health equity. The application period opened July 20 and runs through September 18, 2026. Successful applicants will be notified in January 2027 for projects funded for the period April 2027 through March 2028.

Grant proposals should align with key needs identified in St. Joseph Health's most recent Community Health Needs Assessment. Priorities for funding include:

• Access to Healthcare

• Heart Disease and Stroke

• Cancer

• Social Determinants of Health

"We are consistently inspired by the impactful work of nonprofit organizations in our communities," said Fawn Preuss, Regional Director for Community Health & Benefits for CommonSpirit Health. "These grants foster critical partnerships, enabling us to collaboratively address pressing health disparities and create sustainable change. We encourage both established and emerging organizations whose missions align with our priorities to apply."

Michael Bilton, System Director for Community Health and Community Benefit, said "We are intentional and focused in community outreach and programs to improve health and well being. It is important that our hospitals use resources in ways that help address demonstrated, locally-relevant health issues. The grant program is one way we put this into practice." Bilton also commented on the value of working with community organizations, stating "The grant program reflects a commitment to partnering with the communities we serve to improve community health. Hospitals and health systems are part of the solution, but it takes a diversity of actions to strengthen overall health."

Applications for grants of greater than $20,000 must include collaborating partner organizations helping to deliver services. Partners are encouraged, but not required, for smaller grants.
