The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Rome, organized a high-level roundtable titled "Croatia-Jordan: Investment Opportunities" in Zagreb on Friday, 13 March 2026.
The event brought together representatives of Croatian and European institutions, as well as Croatian companies, with the aim of exchanging information on opportunities to strengthen economic and investment cooperation between the Republic of Croatia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
In the opening segment, the participants were addressed by Marina Rožić, Secretary General of the Croatian Chamber of Economy; Zrinka Ujević, Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Croatia; Zdenko Lucić, State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs; and H.E. Kais Abu Dayyeh, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Investment opportunities in Jordan and prospects for strengthening economic cooperation between Jordan and European partners were presented by the Minister of Investment of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, who outlined key sectors and projects within the framework of the Jordan Economic Modernisation Vision (EMV 2033).
The programme continued with presentations of support and financing instruments available to companies interested in operating in international markets. Slađana Ćosić, Head of the European Investment Bank Group Office in Croatia, presented the activities and financial instruments of the European Investment Bank, while Hrvoje Čuvalo, President of the Management Board of the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, spoke about the possibilities of financial support for Croatian companies entering third-country markets. Business and market development experience was presented by Tomislav Prpić, Head of Sales and Market Development at Končar.
The roundtable was organized as a preparatory event for the EU-Jordan Investment Conference, which will take place in April 2026 at the Dead Sea in Jordan. The conference will bring together key representatives of the public and private sectors with the aim of mobilizing private sector investment, expanding trade opportunities, and fostering strategic partnerships between the European Union and Jordan in priority sectors defined under the Jordan Economic Modernisation Vision.
Participants highlighted the importance of further deepening economic relations between Croatia and Jordan and expressed interest in continuing the dialogue and strengthening cooperation. They also voiced the expectation that the upcoming EU-Jordan Investment Conference will create additional opportunities for concrete projects and partnerships between Croatian, European, and Jordanian partners.
