Speed limits lowered on seven corridors

Tempe is adjusting its speed limits on seven roadways to improve safety and better match the current state of its roads. These modifications result from an evaluation of roadway characteristics, traffic patterns, crash history, and input from the community. The goal is to support safety for all road users and improve consistency along corridors.

The speed limit changes support Tempe's changing urban environment, continued growth, higher land density, and increased pedestrian and bicycling activity. The effort also aligns with Tempe's Vision Zero goals, which aim to reduce the number of fatal and serious injury crashes.
