Free Fair Housing Workshop to Educate Residents on Their Housing Rights & Responsibilities

The City of Bellflower, in partnership with the Fair Housing Foundation (FHF), invites residents to attend a free Fair Housing Workshop on Wednesday, March 4 from 2 to 3:30 p.m., in the Green Room at Bellflower City Hall, 16600 Civic Center Dr.

This workshop is open to the public and is designed for tenants, landlords, property managers, attorneys, realtors and management companies. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of their rights and responsibilities under federal and state fair housing laws, including guidance on navigating tenant and landlord disputes.

Topics covered will include:

  • Federal and state fair housing laws
  • Housing discrimination
  • Reasonable modifications and accommodations
  • Families with children
  • Notices and eviction processes
  • Security deposits and rent increases
  • Habitatability and repairs
  • New statewide housing laws

Founded in 1964, the Fair Housing Foundation is dedicated to eliminating housing discrimination and promoting equal access to housing for all. Through workshops, training, counseling services, walk-in clinics and mediation, FHF helps residents understand and exercise their fair housing rights. The organization also investigates discrimination concerns through its housing assistance hotline at 1-800-446-FAIR (3247).
