Hopkinton Man Indicted for Unlawful Possession of Ghost Guns and Almost 3,000 Rounds of Ammunition

CONCORD - Hopkinton resident Joshua Gragg, 39, was indicted yesterday by a federal grand jury as a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan announces.

According to the charging documents and public record, in September 2026, law enforcement searched Gragg's residence and found multiple firearms in his bedroom, including at least three "ghost guns," which are firearms that were manufactured using a 3D printer. Law enforcement also found almost 3,000 rounds of ammunition, 20 firearm suppressors, and 46 pistol frames. The pistol frames were also manufactured using a 3D printer.

The charge of felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition provides a maximum prison term of 15 years, a maximum fine of $250,000, and a term of supervised release of not more than 3 years. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes that govern the determination of a sentence in a criminal case.

The details contained in the indictment are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Homeland Security Investigations led the investigation. The ATF provided valuable assistance. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexander S. Chen is prosecuting the case.
