Join SDFB at the State Fair

Celebration of South Dakota's century farms and ranches, information on South Dakota Farm Bureau Health Plans, free ice-cold water, and a family scavenger hunt are just a few things you can find on Farm Bureau Avenue at the South Dakota State Fair Sept. 2-7, 2026, in Huron.

The South Dakota Farm & Ranch Recognition Program will take place Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Farm Bureau Dakotaland stage on the east end of Farm Bureau Avenue. The event honors farms and ranches that have been owned by the same family for 100, 125, and 150 years. It is sponsored by South Dakota Farm Bureau and South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

Also on the Farm Bureau Dakotaland state, an informational session on SDFB Health Plans will take place on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 9:30 a.m.

On the west end of Farm Bureau Avenue, the SDFB trailer will be parked in front of the Nordby Center. Fairgoers can pick up a free bottle of ice-cold water in a SDFB koozie, compliments of South Dakota Farm Bureau.

A scavenger hunt promising a family adventure will also be going on during fair week. Guests are encouraged to pick up a scavenger hunt worksheet at the FFA Ag Adventure Center. Completed worksheets may be turned in for a prize.
