The FDNY to Hold Graduation Ceremony for Probationary EMTs and Promotion for EMS Officers

The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) Commissioner Bonsignore will preside over an EMS graduation for 143 Probationary Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and the promotion of 38 EMS officers on Thursday, March 19, at 10 a.m. at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn. The ceremony can be viewed live on the Department's website at www.nyc.gov/FDNY or HERE.

At the ceremony, the FDNY will promote the first woman in FDNY history as the Assistant Chief of EMS Operations. Kathleen Knuth, a 22-year member of the Department, will work with Chief of EMS Paul Miano in overseeing the more than 4,000 EMTs, Paramedics, EMS Officers, and civilian employees in the EMS Bureau.

These new EMTs and officers will be assigned to various units throughout the city.
