Update: Caldecott Tunnel State Route 24 (SR-24) Overnight Closures Bores #1, and 3

March 2, 2026, Closure Canceled Will Resume on Tuesday March 3, 2026

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties - Caltrans will continue overnight closures of Bores 1, and 3 of the Caldecott Tunnel on State Route 24 (SR-24) for routine maintenance, CCTV, and drainage cleaning. March 2, 2026, closure of bore #3 on westbound SR-24 has been canceled and will resume Nightly March 3, 2026, through Friday, March 6, 2026, 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

    Monday, March 2, 2026 - Canceled
    Tuesday, March 3, 2026

Bore #1 Closures EB SR-24

  • Wednesday, March 4, 2026
    Thursday, March 5, 2026
    Friday, March 6, 2026

During each closure, all other bores in each direction will remain open.

Traffic Control Measures:

Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
