Today, Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski has officially opened new premises of the Polish diplomatic mission in Germany's capital. The Embassy is now located in a prime site of Berlin, at no more than 300 metres from the Brandenburg Gate.

"I am pleased to welcome you to the new office of the Polish Embassy at the heart of Berlin. This is the most modern Polishdiplomatic mission in the world and one of the finest buildings in Unter den Linden," stressed Poland's top diplomat.

The new chancery offers decent conditions for carrying out every-day work and providing services to Polish citizens living in Germany. It is composed of a total number of 475 rooms, which include meeting spaces, diplomats' offices, a consular section for Polish citizens, a residential part for the Embassy staff, and hotel rooms for official delegations visiting Berlin.

The new Embassy's premises will also make it possible to organise various events and meetings to widely present and promote Poland in Berlin.

Interestingly, the building is environmentally friendly, with green roofs located at different heights above ground level. Rainwater is harvested in tanks and used for watering purposes. Thermal energy and electricity are supplied by local providers that guarantee to source them from renewables. The Embassy also provides facilities for cyclists and electric vehicle charging stations.
