Butorović, Paniklova: Strengthening inspection oversight through partnership with UNDP

Minister without Portfolio and Chair of the Coordination Body for Harmonisation and Monitoring of Inspection Oversight Milutin Butorović met today with Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro Ekaterina Paniklova.

During the constructive meeting, the interlocutors discussed concrete opportunities for establishing and expanding partnership cooperation, with a particular focus on improving the functioning of inspection services in Montenegro.

Butorović informed the UNDP Resident Representative about ongoing activities in the field of inspection reform, stressing that modernisation of this segment of public administration is key to ensuring greater efficiency, transparency, and consistent enforcement of the law.

Paniklova expressed UNDP's readiness to provide expert and technical support in the processes of digitalisation and the introduction of modern standards in inspection work. It was jointly concluded that strengthening the capacities of inspection authorities directly contributes to the rule of law and the creation of a predictable business environment.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue intensive communication in order to define concrete projects and initiatives to be implemented in the upcoming period, with the aim of achieving greater operational efficiency and professionalisation of the inspection system.
