Seattle police arrested a man following a mass-casualty incident, and a series of similar stabbings over the past 40 hours, in the Chinatown-International District this afternoon.
Beginning Thursday, November 7th at 1:35 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a stabbing near 12th Avenue South and South King Street. They located a 52-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) provided medical treatment, and she was transported to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in serious condition.
Police located a blood trail and a possible crime scene near 8th Avenue South and South King Street. They collected forensic evidence.
Officers searched the area; the suspect was not located.

On November 7th at 12:19 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a male stabbed near 8th Avenue South and South Jackson Street. They located a 32-year-old victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Officers provided medical aid until SFD arrived and continued medical. He was transported to HMC in serious condition.
The suspect was described as a black male wearing a checkered hoody last seen heading east bound on South King Street.
The suspect fled the area and was not located. Police attempted to conduct a K9 track, but it was canceled due to the heavy foot traffic and an insufficient starting point.
#2024-315980/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On November 7th at about 8 pm, patrol officers responded to reports of a man stabbed in the back near 8th Avenue South and South Jackson Street.
They located a 37-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was treated by SFD and transported to HMC in serious condition.
Police located and detained a possible suspect near an abandoned building at 10th Avenue South and South Jackson Street.
The 34-year-old man had a felony warrant for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. The suspect was armed with a knife, and it was seized as evidence. He was booked into King County Jail for his warrant.
His involvement in the stabbing is under investigation.
#2024-316392/West Precinct/Third Watch
On November 7th at 8:39 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of an assault in the 800 block of South King Street beneath the I-5 freeway overpass.
They located a 60-year-old victim inside their vehicle with a laceration to his hand. Officers provided medical aid until SFD arrived.
Police determined the suspect had approached the victim's vehicle on foot, forcibly opened the driver's side door and attempted to stab him in the chest.
The victim blocked the violent assault but sustained a cut to his hand. His cell phone was taken during the robbery. He was transported to HMC for further medical care.
The suspect fled eastbound on foot. His description was similar to the previously reported stabbings.
King County Sheriff's Department's Guardian One helicopter and police K9 units responded to assist in the manhunt. A K9 track was initiated but the suspect was not located.
#2024-316497/West Precinct/Third Watch
On November 8th at about 1:00 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of an assault near the intersection of 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street. They located a victim bleeding heavily from a neck injury.
Officers provided medical aid until SFD arrived and continued treatment. The 53-year-old man was transported to HMC in serious condition.
Police followed a blood trail to a doorway northwest of where the victim was found and used that as a starting point for another KCSO K9 track. Once again, officers failed to apprehend the suspect.
#2024-316569/West Precinct/Third Watch:
Police arrested a man Friday afternoon after he allegedly stabbed 5 people in the Chinatown-International District.
Officers responded to the intersection of 10 Ave South and South Jackson Street for reports of five people stabbed at 2 PM. Police converged on the area and took the suspect into custody without further incident.
Seattle Fire Department medics transported four victims to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. One victim was treated and released from the scene.
Detectives with the Homicide/Assault unit are now working to identify the suspect who is 30-40 years old. Police will later book the suspect into King Couty Jail for Investigation of Assault.
The circumstances leading up to these crimes are under investigation. Detectives with the Homicide & Assault Unit have not yet confirmed if they are related.
