The American Experiment that began in earnest 250 years ago, with more and more significant events in 1776, has led to the betterment not only of American citizens but of the world population at large. Every society and culture in this world today is in a better place because of the spark that lit a fire for freedom and self-determination 250 years ago.

In January 1776, Thomas Paine published Common Sense, and it was one of the most widely circulated works of the time. I know not many will go read this work, but I'd encourage you to do a quick search on the significant passages it includes. Keep in mind, we are still a part of this experiment today. Not everyone agreed then, not everyone agrees today.

You can read Common Sense in full for free on the Library of Congress website - Click Here.
