Wind Advisory: MTA Bridges and Tunnels to Prohibit Certain Trucks from Crossings Wednesday, Nov. 5, into Thursday, Nov. 6

Ban in Place 8:00 p.m. Wednesday Through 4:00 a.m. Thursday

MTA Bridges and Tunnels today announced that due to forecasts of high wind conditions beginning this evening, the agency will prohibit empty tractor-trailers and tandem trucks (piggyback, dual, triple, etc.) from using its seven bridges beginning at 8:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 5. The ban is currently expected to last through 4:00 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 6.

The seven bridges where the prohibition will be in effect are:

  • Bronx-Whitestone Bridge
  • Cross Bay Bridge
  • Henry Hudson Bridge
  • Marine Parkway Bridge
  • Robert F. Kennedy Bridge
  • Throgs Neck Bridge
  • Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge
