Perth serves up world-class tennis with return of United Cup

  • United Cup to bring world's top-ranked players to WA in January
  • Women's World Number Two and six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek confirmed to compete in Australia
  • Perth quarterfinal tickets on sale from today
  • Supports Cook Government's commitment to diversify the economy so it remains strongest in the nation

Perth will serve as centre court for global tennis action when the world's top-ranked players return to RAC Arena for the 2026 United Cup.

Supported by the Cook Government, the United Cup will return to Perth from 2 January, drawing thousands of spectators to witness world-class tennis and contributing millions of dollars to the WA economy.

Eighteen countries will compete in singles and mixed doubles in the highly competitive team tennis tournament across Perth and Sydney, with Perth hosting the prestigious opening tournament session.

Poland is the first team confirmed for the 2026 United Cup, including Women's World Number Two and six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek and former Men's World Number Six Hubert Hurkacz.

Perth will host two quarterfinal matches on Wednesday, 7 January, with participating countries and group matchups to be announced in an official draw later this year.

WA has welcomed a high calibre of tennis talent in recent years. In 2023, Serbia's Novak Djokovic thrilled fans at RAC Arena, while in 2024 spectators had the chance to see the 2025 champions, Team USA's Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz, in action.

Adding to the atmosphere in the Perth CBD throughout the tournament, a vibrant fan zone will be activated outside of RAC Arena, featuring activities for all ages, including interactive tennis games and pop-up experiences.

United Cup is another example of the Cook Government's economic diversification strategy to attract a year-round events calendar to drive out-of-state visitation, deliver jobs and generate valuable tourism dollars for local business and industry.

Tickets for the United Cup Perth quarterfinals go on sale at 4pm AWST today via Ticketek. Group stages will go on sale in November.
