WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Senator Rick Scott released the third episode of his 'American Dream at Work' series, featuring Ron Labbe, owner of Naples Lumber & Supply Company in Naples, Florida. Senator Scott toured the facility and sat down with Ron to discuss how the government should operate like any family or business has to, and how reining in the burdensome regulatory environment can help small businesses create jobs, grow the economy, and help American families live their American Dreams. Watch episode one with Jon Taffer HERE and episode two with Fernando Mendoza, the owner and founder of Nando Grill, HERE.
As part of his American Dream at Work series, Senator Scott is traveling the state to highlight Florida's entrepreneurs, their businesses, and the incredible work they're doing to grow jobs and contribute to their communities. Senator Scott lived his American Dream - from growing up in public housing, to starting a family, building businesses, being elected Governor of Florida, and U.S. Senator - he continues working tirelessly to ensure every American has the same opportunity to live their American Dream.
Senator Rick Scott said, "The American Dream has always been about opportunity and the promise that if you work hard, you can make a better life for yourself and your family. Ron Labbe knows that well. I sat down with him to hear how he went from an hourly employee to owning Naples Lumber, how he's inspiring others to do the same, and how policies like President Trump's No Tax on Overtime make a huge difference. By shrinking government, reining in federal spending, and cutting taxes, we can Make Washington Work Better for businesses like Naples Lumber so hardworking Floridians like Ron can continue creating jobs, helping families succeed. Ron's story, and the stories of so many Floridians like him, show that the American Dream is still alive and worth fighting for."
