Court Operations During Government Shutdown

Monday, October 20, 2025

On October 20, 2025, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Alabama will enter a shutdown phase as a result of a lapse in appropriations. Until further notice, the Court will only be able to execute specific tasks related to the management of bankruptcy cases. However, all court proceedings will continue to be held, CM/ECF is operational, and parties may continue to file documents with the Court.

The Clerk's Office hours will be Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Court will be closed to the public on Fridays. Individuals who need to file documents with the court may file using our after-hours drop box located at the front of the courthouse. Additional information can be found here.
