CAMO-RNO Veterans Treatment Court Celebrates Nine Graduates

The Reno Municipal Court invites media to the 17th CAMO-RNO Veteran Treatment Court graduation on Tuesday, March 3 at 1:30 p.m. The CAMO-RNO (Court Assistance Military Offenders in Reno) is a problem-solving treatment court that serves Veterans and active-duty military personnel, charged with misdemeanor crimes.

Hon. Judge Shelly T. O'Neill will speak at the graduation to highlight the graduates' work and importance of the program, consisting of nine new graduates, adding to the 108 veterans and active-duty military personnel who have graduated since the program's inception in October 2018.

"I'm very proud of all our veterans who have put in the hard work and dedication to reach graduation day," said Hon. Judge Shelly T. O'Neill. "It's a privilege to serve as the judge for CAMO-RNO, and I look forward to seeing our graduates succeed in their next endeavors."

The CAMO-RNO Veterans Court was initially established through grant support from the U.S. Department of Justice, followed by an enhancement grant of $399,839 awarded in October 2020. Currently, CAMO-RNO is funded by the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) via the Nevada Supreme Court, in addition to federal grant funding obtained in 2023 from the Bureau of Justice Assistance.
