Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright advised New Development Bank (NDB) in connection with a RMB950 million loan facility to China Three Gorges Brasil Energia (CTG Brasil) to finance the construction and operation of the Serra da Palmeira power project, a 648-MW wind farm in Paraíba, Brazil.
The Serra da Palmeira project is expected to support the expansion of Brazil's renewable energy capacity and contribute to the diversification of the country's power generation mix. The financing also reflects growing cooperation among NDB member countries, with wind turbine generators for the project being supplied from China.
Norton Rose Fulbright's team was led by Caspar Davey and included Cameron Royse and Arthur dos Santos (São Paulo).
The firm's projects practice is one of the largest of its kind with more than 350 lawyers across 50 offices acting on some of the world's most innovative, complex and challenging projects. Norton Rose Fulbright is ranked as a top global projects legal advisor by volume, with deals valued at more than US$90 billion in aggregate last year (IJGlobal, Q1-Q4, 2025).
