Prof. Meyer’s Art Featured in Fall Exhibitions

Susan Meyer, M.F.A., specialist professor of foundations in the Department of Art and Design, is showing in three group exhibitions this fall. Two of Meyer's sculptures are included in "You Think That's Funny? Humor in Contemporary Art" at the Hammond Museum in North Salem, N.Y. Curated by D. Dominick Lombardi, the exhibit runs through Nov. 16.

In Lombardi's accompanying exbition essay, published in Dart International Magazine and in CultureCatch, he observes, "Meyer's sculptures have a B-movie type futuristic look to them that feels timid in one way and grandiose in another. A bold mix of emotions that gives her work a unique sort of humor that is subtle but effective."

Additionally, Meyer is included in the group exhibition, "Formless," at Drawing Room, Jersey City, N.J. Curated by Anne Trauben, artist, arts advocate, curator, and exhibitions coordinator at Drawing Room, "Formless" runs through Oct. 5. Meyer is also showing in "Shelf Show" at Monument Gallery in Kingston, N.Y.
