The cyclist killed in a crash in the Ashcreek-Crestwood Neighborhood on August 25 has been identified as Margaret N. Shrader, 72, of Portland. Her family has been notified of her death. The preliminary investigation revealed that Shrader was riding an e-bike, and wearing a helmet and highly-visible yellow shirt, when she was struck head on by a Jeep Wrangler. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. At this time, no citations or criminal charges have been filed.

Cyclist Deceased Following Crash in Ashcreek-Crestwood Neighborhood

On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at approximately 3:20 p.m., officers assigned to the Portland Police Bureau's Central Precinct responded to reports of a crash in the 6300 block of Southwest Dolph Drive. When they arrived, officers located an adult female cyclist who had been struck by vehicle. The woman was transported to an area hospital where she was unfortunately pronounced deceased. The driver who struck the cyclist remained at the scene and is cooperating with officers.
