Road to 250: Arizona Traveling Museum Visits Red Mountain Library Feb. 28

The Arizona America250 Commission has launched Road to 250: Arizona Traveling Museum presented by Banner Health, a mobile exhibition that is touring all 15 counties in Arizona. The traveling museum will be at Mesa's Red Mountain Library on Feb. 28. It will be the only stop for the exhibit in the east valley.

Housed in a custom-retrofitted trailer, the Arizona Traveling Museum blends national history with Arizona's unique story through immersive panels, a short looping video experience, and interactive activations for all ages. The centerpiece is a replica of the Liberty Bell, which typically resides at the Arizona State Capitol.

Mayor Mark Freeman, Councilmember Alicia Goforth, Vice Mayor and Mesa's America 250 planning committee chair Scott Somers will be among the speakers , celebrating the three pillars of Mesa's America 250 efforts: Commitment to Service, Honoring Our History and Celebrating Our Community and Neighborhoods.

Red Mountain Library

When: Saturday, Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Remarks from Mayor,
Council and Banner Health at 10:15 a.m.)

Where:Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Road

In partnership with the event, Vitalant will host a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on its donation bus in the library parking lot with appointments available at vitalant.org.
