Weekly Lane Closure Advisory on the I 285/I 20 West Interchange Project.

Traffic Impacts Related to The I-285/I-20 West Interchange Project
Weather permitting, the Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) and its construction partners will temporarily close interstate lanes at the following locations for survey work and geotechnical boring to support design on the I-285/I-20 West Interchange project.

This project will reconstruct and widen several interstates, system-to-system ramps at the I-285/I-20 West Interchange and add a combination of collector-distributor lanes or connecting lanes, and auxiliary lanes along I-20 west and I-285 north of the interchange.
Weeknight Closures

Monday, April 28, through Tuesday, April 29, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Nightly)
Single, right-lane, and right-shoulder closure at the following location:
  • I-20 westbound from State Route (SR) 70/Fulton Industrial Boulevard (mile marker (MM) 48.8) to Factory Shoals Road overpass (MM 45.6)
Weekend Nighttime Closures

Friday, May 2, 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Single, left-lane, and left-shoulder closure at the following location:
  • I-285 northbound from SR 139/Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (MM 9.2) to the I-20 Interchange (MM 10.1)
Friday, May 2, through Saturday, May 3, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Double, left-lane, and left-shoulder closure at the following location:
  • I-285 northbound from SR 139/Martin Luther King Jr. Drive (MM 9.2) to the I-20 Interchange (MM 10.1)
Advisory: Exact time may change due to weather conditions. There may be intermittent traffic pacing and lane and ramp closures that occur within the work zone in addition to this notice. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers.
