Week's events: Cathie Harms, gut health, info literacy, steel drums

University of Alaska Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting more than 40 free lectures, concerts and events this summer. Here's what's happening during the week of July 27-Aug. 2:

• On Monday, July 27, the Fairbanks Tall Timbers interview series will honor Cathie Harms, wildlife biologist. The interview is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Tuesday, July 28, the Healthy Living lecture series will host Scott Luper, naturopathic physician, discussing "Gut Feelings: Your Microbiome and Health and Well-Being." The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Wednesday, July 29, the Discover Alaska lecture series will feature Elizabeth Dawson and Genova Brookes Boyd, assistant professors of library science, presenting "Research Like a Scholar, Think Like a Critic: Information Literacy Essentials." The lecture is at 7 p.m. in the BP Design Theater.
• On Thursday, July 30, the Music in the Garden concert series will present Cold Steel Drums at 6 p.m. and Ice Jam at 7:30 p.m. at UAF's Georgeson Botanical Garden.

All events are free and open to the public. Parking on the UAF Troth Yeddha' Campus is free after 5 p.m.
