10th Annual Southfield Photo Prize: Public Exhibition and Online Voting Open Until September 25

Ten years. That's how long Southfield residents have been turning their cameras on the city they call home, and the 10th Annual Southfield Photo Prize marks the milestone in the best way possible: with the community deciding the winners.

The city of Southfield is proud to sponsor this year's competition and outdoor exhibition, a celebration of the natural and architectural beauty that makes Southfield worth photographing, from our parks and green spaces to our landmarks, neighborhoods, and the everyday moments that catch the light just right. Submissions were reviewed by the Total Living Commission and the Public Arts Commission, which selected the top 25 finalists now on display and eligible for public voting through September 25, 2026.

Congratulations to this year's finalists: Sarah Takacs, Keir Pittman, Darren Hood, Benjamin J. Covault, Reuben Cheney, Cindy J. Briggs, Nancy Kulish, Angela Hood, Dalin Allshouse, Michael Marmorstein, Mikiyo Takemoto-Ford, Rhonda Terry, Renji Inuzuka, and Vanassa Gandy. Their photographs represent the very best of this year's entries, and each one is worth seeing in person.

The finalist photographs have been enlarged and placed on display on the Parks & Recreation building. We encourage the community to visit the exhibition and see them up close, because photographs look different on a wall than they do on a screen. Take your time, and see the city through the eyes of your neighbors.

Then comes the best part: your vote. The winners are chosen by the community, and every resident is encouraged to take part.

To vote, simply click on the link below and then click on your favorite photograph and then hit 'Submit' at the bottom of the page. Please note that each person may only vote for one entry per IP address. Additional votes from the same IP address will be ineligible.
