City of West Hollywood Co-Sponsors: ‘A Triple-Header Day of Women’s Empowerment Movies’

The City of West Hollywood is co-sponsoring A Triple-Header Day of Women's Empowerment Movies, presented by Girls Just Wanna Have Funds, LLC. Three film screenings will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the City of West Hollywood's Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard. A Triple Header Day of Women's Empowerment Movies will bring together angel investors, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, activists, and the greater community for a day of award-winning movies, inspiration, and powerful connecting.

Tickets are available on the Luma website and are $25 for a single film screening or $55 for a VIP all-day pass, which includes tickets to view all three movies, continental breakfast, lunch, and - for the first 100 VIP Pass purchasers - a copy of the coffee table book, Show Her The Money: The Riveting Stories About the People Behind the Movie and the Movement.

A limited number of discount tickets ($15 for a single film; $45 for a VIP Pass) are available while supplies last for West Hollywood residents. Sign up via Constant Contact to be notified of the resident discount code when it becomes available.

A Triple Header Day of Women's Empowerment Movies will showcase three noted films, Show Her the Money, Lilly, and Still Working 9 to 5. Each film celebrates the power of women's stories, voices, and impact with themes that span business, politics, and pop culture - reminding us that real change is made when women's voices are amplified.

The event schedule for the day is as follows:

• 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. - Coffee and bagels in the lobby and book-signing (VIP ticket attendees) of Show Her The Money: The Riveting Stories About the People Behind the Movie and the Movement including Actress/Producer Sharon Gless; Director Ky Dickens; and Producers Catherine Gray, Dawn Lafreeda, and Diana Greshtchuk.

• 10 a.m. - Screening of Show Her the Money, which shines a light on the fact that women receive less than 2% of venture capital funding, this award-winning documentary demystifies the venture capital world and showcases visionary female founders.

• 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. - Casual lunch and mixer in the lobby (VIP ticket attendees).

• 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. - Screening of Lilly, which is the inspiring true story of Lilly Ledbetter directed by Rachel Feldman, whose fight for equal pay led to the historic Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009, starring Academy Award-nominated actress Patricia Clarkson.

• 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. - Screening of Still Working 9 to 5, which is a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the beloved classic 9 to 5 and the ongoing fight for workplace equality, featuring icons Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton, and Lily Tomlin.

After each screening there will be a panel discussion and a short awards ceremony recognizing several individuals for their outstanding contributions and activism.
