Finding Purpose at Work

Bridging Perspectives event will examine transferable strengths, career identity and new possibilities for growth

University of Phoenix will host the next installment of its Bridging Perspectives webinar series, "Beyond The Job Title: Finding Purpose and Recognizing the Value You Bring," at 11 a.m. PT on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026. Presented by the Office of Collaborative Learning and Educational Engagement, the webinar will explore how working adults can identify transferable strengths, recognize their professional value, and connect purpose with future career opportunities.

"As career paths become increasingly dynamic, there is an opportunity to reframe how we think about professional identity and success," said Saray Lopez, MBA, director of Strategic Initiatives at University of Phoenix. "This conversation explores how individuals can recognize the strengths and experiences they carry with them, connect those capabilities to a sense of purpose, and approach new opportunities with greater confidence and clarity."

The webinar will examine how individuals can identify transferable strengths, including communication, judgment, relationship-building, adaptability and other human capabilities that often extend beyond a specific role or title. Panelists will discuss ways to recognize professional value, evaluate new opportunities and navigate career transitions with confidence.

Featured panelists share perspectives on purpose, leadership and professional growth

The moderated discussion will feature:

  • Tonika Quick, SPHR, leadership strategist and founder, TQ Leadership Advisory
  • Angela Salazar, founder and CEO, Semilla Consulting LLC
  • Jelisa Dallas, M.S.Ed., program manager, Student Organizations, University of Phoenix

Together, panelists will share perspectives on professional identity, leadership development, career transitions and the role purpose plays in helping individuals recognize their strengths, build confidence and pursue meaningful opportunities.

During the session, participants will explore:

  • How to look beyond a job title to identify the strengths, experiences and capabilities that shape how they contribute
  • How to recognize transferable value and consider where skills and experience may apply across different roles, settings and career paths
  • The role of purpose and professional identity in evaluating opportunities and deciding what they want to build toward next

Whether pursuing a new opportunity, considering a career change or simply reflecting on what comes next, attendees will gain insights into recognizing professional value, understanding transferable strengths and connecting purpose with new career possibilities beyond a job title.

The Bridging Perspectives webinar series aims to foster cultural awareness around timely issues, encourage thought leadership and strengthen community connections through meaningful dialogue and shared learning.
