Seawolves stride to top-10 finishes

Lake Placid, New York - The University of Alaska Anchorage ski team opened RMISA action with six top-10 finishes in the 10-kilometer classic at the RMISA Invite Sunday.

Corbin Carpenter led the Seawolves with a podium finish placing third in 26:01. Erling Bjornstad was one second behind in fourth.

Garrett Siever was 10th in 26:52.

Marit Flora led the women with an eighth-place finish in 31:07. Constance LaPointe was ninth (31:10), and Marlie Molinaro was 10th (31:17). Dashe McCabe was 24th (34:55).

Utah leads the team standings with 202 points, with UAA second with 156 points.

Other finishes for the men included, Henry Skjoensfjell 16th (27:19), Hermod Bangstad 18th (27:30), Matt Seline 20th (27:50) and Murphy Kimball 27th (29:01).

UAA will compete in the 20-kilometer freestyle Jan. 8.
