Special Sections’ New Deputy Editor

It's a great pleasure to announce that Christoph Fuhrmans is the new deputy editor of the Special Sections group in the Print Hub.

Christoph is more than just one of the tallest journalists at The Times (yes, he's actually 6-7 , much to his kids' delight). As a senior staff editor in Special Sections for the past eight years, he assigned and edited a variety of projects - from sports and technology to climate and film - and oversaw promotion and publication of all Special Sections content on the digital side.

Christoph came to The Times in the fall of 2009 as a freelance page designer and web producer. Two years later, he officially joined the newsroom full time as part of the night web production team. He moved to Sports as a senior staff editor in 2013 and then moved to Special Sections. Before joining The Times, Christoph worked on the sports desks at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Detroit Free Press, Savannah Morning News and The Island Packet on Hilton Head Island.
