A continuing two-year investigation into the September 8, 2024, targeted gunfire outside of Bucanas Nightclub, 3810 Nolensville Pike, that killed one man and wounded another has led to the arrest of a second suspect.
Kevin Garcia-Soto, 20, was booked Wednesday evening after a South Precinct officer stopped him for playing his car music too loudly and saw that he had outstanding homicide and attempted homicide warrants. His brother, Edgar Garcia-Soto, 19, was arrested in May and charged with homicide and attempted homicide in Juvenile Court because he was 17 when the crime occurred.
Yasser Paz, 18, and Kyaw Naing, 20, were leaving the club when a vehicle pulled up next to theirs in the parking lot. People got out and opened fire. Paz was killed. Naing was critically wounded.
The investigation, being led by Detective Cooper Gauldin, developed information that the shooting stemmed from a prior conflict between Paz and Edgar Garcia-Soto.
