AUSTIN - The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) has received the 2025 Full Employment Award from the American Institute for Full Employment (AIFE). AIFE, a non-profit focused on solving unemployment, presents the award annually to organizations or individuals with outstanding commitment to helping unemployment insurance (UI) claimants return to work.
"This award is a tremendous honor for TWC and a reflection of our commitment to providing efficient and impactful services," said TWC Chairman Joe Esparza. "By embracing innovative technologies and providing customized support, we're helping Texans find meaningful employment faster and making sure employers have access to skilled workers."
TWC received the award for its Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) program. The program offers direct support to UI recipients, so they can get back to work faster. This support includes help with job applications, mock interviews, and industry-specific resume writing. Participants also create individual reemployment plans with clear action steps. TWC recently made innovative changes to RESEA by offering additional 1-on-1 career coaching sessions, revamping the individual reemployment plan, and introducing AI-powered job readiness tools.
"Investing in programs like RESEA, which provide individualized support and resources, is essential for helping Texas workers navigate the job market and secure quality employment," said TWC Commissioner Representing Labor Alberto Treviño III. "This award highlights the program's success in doing just that."
Texas is the first state to make AI-supported resources a mandatory part of reemployment services. These new tools provide users with instant, industry-tailored feedback on their interview skills and resumes. Last year, these resources helped users voluntarily complete more than 15,000 lessons, marking nearly five times the number of assignments that RESEA participants were required to complete while seeking reemployment.
"By using the power of innovation to deliver personalized coaching, TWC is helping Texans build skills and secure their next job faster," said TWC Commissioner Representing the Public Brent Connett. "Our award-winning work offers personalized assistance, creating individual action plans that equip Texans to re-enter the workforce quickly, and with confidence."
