On March 23, 2026, Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu met with Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity of Libya Abdulmajeed Maligata in Beijing.
Miao Deyu stated that China and Libya enjoy a traditional friendship. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 48 years ago, the two countries have always supported each other and treated each other as equals. China stands ready to work with Libya to continue following the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, firmly support each other, steadily advance cooperation, jointly uphold international fairness and justice, and continuously enrich the connotation of the China-Libya strategic partnership.
Abdulmajeed Maligata stated that Libya admires China's achievements in economic and social development, closely follows China's 15th Five-Year Plan, and looks forward to close high-level exchanges with China, so as to deepen cooperation in areas such as infrastructure construction and energy, and promote the in-depth development of the Libya-China strategic partnership.
