As Co-Chair of the Friends of Yemen Caucus and the Representative of the country's largest Yemeni population, Congressman Shri Thanedar led a letter to Secretaries Rubio and Mullin urging them to extend and redesignate Yemen for Temporary Protected Status for 1,400 Yemeni nationals in the United States.
The following members of Congress joined Congressman Thanedar in signing this letter: Representative Jonathan Jackson, Representative Ritchie Torres, Representative Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, Representative Hank Johnson, Representative Seth Moulton, Representative Darren Soto, Representative Andre Carson, and Representative Al Green.
The letter was endorsed by the following organizations: American Center for Justice, Arab American Civic Council, Hadhramaut Institute for Strategic Studies, Immigrants Act Now, Washington Center for Yemeni Studies, Yemeni American Association, Corp, and the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights.
