Community members are invited to attend a workshop centered around the maintenance of private roads for Homeowners Associations (HOAs), coordinated through the Neighborhood Alliance of Central Oklahoma (NACOK), on January 15. The event will be held virtually, begins at 6 p.m., and all are welcome to participate.
"Private roads are one of the most expensive assets an HOA owns," said Lisa Krieg of the Planning and Community Development Department at the City of Norman. "Participants will learn the importance of understanding the issue of maintaining private roads because the responsibility - and the risk - falls entirely on the HOA and the homeowners, not the City or the County. By understanding the responsibility of private road maintenance and appropriately planning for the financial implications, can help avoid disputes, unexpected costs, and even legal exposure."
Krieg acts as staff liaison for NACOK, who partners often with the City of Norman for educational opportunities and community building initiatives.
The workshop is offered at no cost. Those interested in attending should pre-register online at https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/z82uas4/lp/78e30961-411e-4c2a-9a78-457112bc3ab1.
