PR No. 152 Federal Minister for IT & Telecommunication Visits NDMA Headquarters, Rev

Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Ms. Shiza Fatima Khawaja visited National Emergencies Operations Centre (NEOC) at the Headquarters NDMA, Islamabad, today. Chairman NDMA Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik, HI (M) welcomed her along with senior officials of the Authority.

During her visit, the Federal Minister was given a comprehensive briefing on the functioning of NEOC and NDMA's concept development of next generation technology-enabled disaster preparedness, early warning and emergency response mechanisms. She was apprised of the Authority's development of high-end NEOC products including AI- IoT enabled systems real-time monitoring of emerging hazards, NEOC Startups, AI based disaster solutions and Internet Protocol (IP) based Disaster Early Warning DEW TV for risk communication.

The Minister also visited the Mobile NEOC, Disaster Resilient Infrastructure Model (DRIM), proposed Humanitarian Hub and Next Generation Technology (NGT) facilities, where she was briefed on their operational capabilities, preparedness, logistics and technology-enabled emergency response.

Federal Minister Shiza Fatima Khawaja appreciated NDMA's efforts towards leveraging modern technology for strengthening national disaster preparedness and response. She reaffirmed institutional collaboration between NDMA and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication for advancing technology-enabled disaster risk management and building a more resilient Pakistan.
