Project Description:

The Town of Huntington proposes to replace an existing below-grade stormwater drainage pipe that discharges into Huntington Bay with a new elevated stormwater drainage pipe with stone riprap splashpad below. The elevated pipe is intended to reduce infill and obstruction of the pipe from sand and sediment, and the proposed riprap splash pad is intended to dissipate the stormwater discharge and prevent scouring of the beach. The proposed riprap splash pad is located in the New York State regulated tidal wetlands in an unvegetated area of coastal shoals, bars and mudflats. The project is proposed in a drainage easement on a private residential property at 29 Essex Drive in Northport, Town of Huntington, Suffolk County, NY. SCTM# 400-2-1-1.
