Revitalizing the university’s data governance framework

The Next Frontier Program announced recent progress toward revitalizing Boise State's data governance framework. This work is essential for supporting the university's strategic initiatives and using data that is reliable, valid and governed through well-articulated decision rights.

As part of this effort, the program has established a new Data Governance Committee, which will convene for the first time on Sept. 9. There is also a new data governance website, which includes the Data Governance Framework, data domain matrix and a list of future activities for 2025-2026. Among the upcoming priorities are new training opportunities for data owners and stewards and updates to relevant university policies.

All of this work is aimed at advancing the fundamental mission of the Next Frontier Program to establish a data-empowered culture that enables timely, accurate, accessible and readily visualizable data and analytics for the Boise State community.
